Software Engineer - Customer Solutions

Coactive AI

  • Full time
  • San Jose, California, United States
  • Hybrid
  • Job Description

Coactive makes it easy to search, filter, and analyze visual content. Increasingly image and video data captures the content we watch, the products we buy, and the work we do, and already represents 80% of internet traffic. But rather than being an asset, visual content is often a tax or even a liability because it is so hard to work with and understand. Coactive solves this by bringing structure to unstructured visual data. Rather than spending months (or years) building complex infrastructure, data teams can unlock the value of their visual data in minutes to power use cases such as content understanding and moderation, search, and analytics.

Coactive was founded by experts who shaped the fields of high-performance deep learning and data-centric AI. We have the scars from building and working with the first generation of modern machine learning systems at Google, Meta, Pinterest, eBay, Lyft, and other leading organizations. Through our decades of experience, we have developed a playbook to democratize the toughest parts of machine learning systems; no PhD required.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with one of Forbes' top 50 AI companies, backed by key investors such as Andreesen Horowitz and Bessemer Ventures. This position is truly a chance to be part of a category-defining team that is attracting top-tier talent interested in pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI.

As a Software Engineer focused on customer  solutions, you will be one of the founding members of the Solutions team and will be a key technical contributor bridging sales, customer success, product and engineering. Your primary goal is to ensure the success of prospects and customers by delivering technical solutions and integrations to meet their needs. You’ll collaborate closely across multiple teams, serving as the solutions and integrations expert for the Go-To-Market team while becoming an expert and champion of the Coactive platform.

    What you’ll do:

    • Be an expert and evangelist of the Coactive product
    • Be the resident technical solutions and integrations expert for the Go-To-Market team
    • Provide technical guidance and support to sales and customer success
    • Provide feedback from the field to product and engineering

    • Lead and execute successful Proof-of-Value engagements for prospects and technical integrations for customers
    • Maintain clear documentation and streamlined processes to facilitate efficient collaboration
    • Occasional travel to customer sites and industry conferences may be required
    • Shape best practices and company culture as we grow

    What we look for:

    • BS (or higher) in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent professional experience
    • 5+ years of production-level experience in Python and SQL
    • Experience with modern frameworks and technologies for building prototypes quickly, such as Streamlit, FastAPI, Flask, Jupyter, etc.
    • Experience in designing and building integrations with customers, such as by leveraging open-source tools, API-based services, client SDKs, etc.
    • 5+ years of experience in customer facing technical roles is preferred (can include roles such as sales engineering, solutions engineering, DS/ML consulting, etc.)
    • Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to navigate towards solutions that deliver success to customers
    • Ability to effectively communicate and guide technical and executive audiences, whether in demos, sales calls or in-person customer visits
    • Ability to provide technical mentorship to other technical and non-technical team members, such as sales engineers, solutions engineers, and/or account executives
    • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus
    • Previous experience in ML/AI focused roles is a plus (e.g. ML engineer)
    • Previous experience building integrations with DAMs and internal customer applications is a plus
